A challenge for KC non-profits to compete for free gigabit-speed internet

Kansas City, MO - Mayor Sly James announced the Google Fiber Community Connections Challenge for area non-profits that provide digital inclusion and digital equity services within the city limits to compete for free gigabit-speed Google Fiber Internet service.

"This Challenge will give our city’s nonprofits the ability to enhance the services they provide to their clients,” said Mayor Sly James. “Connecting residents to the possibilities of the internet will open an entirely new world of opportunities, knowledge, and power to our citizens.”

Applications will be evaluated by a Selection Committee comprised of city officials and staff and "digital inclusion stakeholders".

An informational session about the challenge will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 12 p.m. on the 11th floor of City Hall.

The deadline to submit an application is Monday, August 7, 2017 at 5pm
